Hah, this topic really entertained me..
I am a huge Tool fan. And a huge Palahniuk fan.
No, I do not believe that the 2 are related in anyway, simply because Tyler wanted to destroy and kill everyone, and uhm the Bay of Arizona only flushed some people away.. Ahh who knows what I am saying, I am just mumbling.
But I have read every Palahniuk book. And if you are looking for other connections with music and his books I suggest thinking about these combinantions.
*Fight Club & Radiohead's O.K. Computer
*Invisible Monsters & Marliyn Manson's Mechanical Animals
I forgot, but theres a NIN album and one of his books that has a similar feel.
But on a side note, Palahniuk and Manson do know each other.. Creepy
