Question for all the dedicated bootleggers out there; does anyone happen to know when Tool first performed the alternate version of Pushit? The first time the CollectiveUnconscious site explicitly labels Pushit on the setlist as "Pushit (alt.) is on their 7/8/97 concert, but you'd think if that were the first time the band actually played that version the page would've made a note or something. Perhaps it was at a concert that wasn't recorded?

I dunno, I'm just curious. It would be cool to hear the crowd's reaction the first time such a wildly different rendition of a song they knew was tried out for the first time, and see what changed.

Did some digging around on CU and TDN, and here's what I came up with:
- http://www.collectiveunconscious.org/96tulsa1215.html: Pushit is the standard version but has the Salival intro.

- The show you are talking about has Pushit played normally BUT Maynard skipped the last 4 lines (Staring Down->Terrified of whatever may come).

- http://www.collectiveunconscious.org/97mountainview0816.html. Pushit is marked as (alt)...but there is nothing about an alternate version from the TDN reviews! (http://toolshed.down.net/tour/summer97/970816.html).

That said, I think it was debuted in 1998.
