perhaps this song {and then again perhaps not} is about the old record label. My understanding of events is that the band believed themselves free of commitment and when they looked for a new label [with new album in tow] the old label created a fuss and a court battle ensued. So the old label wanted the record to be released under their company. So a very bitter "Hope this is what you wanted", and { I hope you're choking, I hope you choke on this} I realize that may be not quite as deep and/ or cryptic as we are used to, but it would certainly piss me off.
