"Transmutate These Leaden Grudges Into Gold"
Im my.... Opinion
One of the shakras is the Mein Meng. Which in theory has the capability to turn lead into gold. this could relate to Maynards meditation and focusing on positive energy

Couldn't this be saying simply to turn your negativity into something positive, MJK says that at almost every concert I'm sure, the simplest interpretation that I see is to turn the negativity that wears your down and weighs heavy upon you into something good and positive (gold)...just a very simple thought, its too early for me to be thinking too deep

in my interpretation of the grudge i also wondered about this lyric, and in a recent toolband posting, blair was talking about aleister crowleys ideas, one in particular having to deal with an individual being able to transcend the leaden physical form to achieve spiritual gold.

or you could go the simple route saying that he sold his grudge in the form of an album to make money (gold), but i would rather like to think it is a lot deeper then that.

i'd hope so...i think it really is let the ocean (the kind of cleansing tangible representation of letting go) will take your grudges that way you down and make them something positive and usefull.
